This lovely ONE star is given to Mr. Leroy Henderson. Thank you for showing me first hand just how awful the car buying experience can be. From the lack of assistance to interfering with your fellow sales associate while they tried to assist, your actions can only be described as pitiful. Mr. Henderson's superior should look into further training of his employees when it comes to their discretion of other employees. I did not need to know about family issue Rose was having. A simple she's on leave would have sufficed.

My initial stroll into Volvo vehicle was great with the help of Rose. She is a very knowledgeable person with the intention to help to all extent and without the pressure given by most salesman at dealerships. However, the most recent visit I had to Volvo Bay Ridge was a disaster made truly horrid by this salesman named Leroy. I don’t know how a guy like this is even hired because he can destroy the image and reputation of ANY company. His motive was only to make money asking me initially what I currently drove and if I had any intentions of even buying a vehicle on this day. Sort of like sizing me up to see if I was worth his time. After telling him that I have scheduled a test drive thru Sarah, the phone representative that had called me to confirm an appointment one hour prior to arrival he said, “Oh no .. You can’t test drive today. Brooklyn is filled with traffic and you won’t be able to, no way.” Driving from Queens to Brooklyn, in traffic due to the bike tour was not a walk in the park for me, so I had every intention to test drive this vehicle. I had told Leroy that I was looking for the sales representative that had assisted me last time, Rose and he told me she is out but Leeroy wanted me to purchase some vehicle on the show room floor that was not the model I came in for and said he will split 50 percent of commission with Rose. No Thanks. Customers were arriving and had requested to be helped by Ingrid which was not there yet. Leroy contacted her and was yelling at her on the phone saying she had customers waiting for her and to get her behind here right away. He also yelled at the other new sales representative that took a customer out for a test drive because he took too long. This was not a professional way to speak to another coworker especially in front of customers. I applaud Ingrid and another young male sales rep trying everything in their power to assist me and all the other customers. In the end they were unable to help me take the car out for a test drive because Leroy did not want to help them move the vehicles blocking the model I requested to test drive, saying that the other car that’s a T6 is the same as the T5 I request specifically to try. Let me tell you this Leroy, they are not the same thing. Just look at the price tag difference. Through this whole time Leroy was not professional, not helping other customers, as well as causing stress to his colleagues that were trying to help make a good name for your dealership Volvo. This is definitely not how customers should be treated let alone any human being. I am deeply disappointed in the unsatisfactory service that was provided to me and will not come back to purchase a vehicle from your dealership.

Customer Service at VOLVO has been hit or miss - mostly miss when it really counts. While, I’ve been ultimately satisfied with repairs, misinformation has been my biggest pet peeve. I live about 30 minutes away from the dealership in good traffic, as you can imagine a trip from Queens to Brooklyn can zap one’s time. Mostly recently, I called to schedule an appointment in hopes of reducing my wait time. The customer service representative adviced that you don’t need an appointment because your car’s scheduled maintenance only requires an oil change. I dropped in the following week, and I’m told that it’s going to be 3-4 hour wait; the Service Rep then advised that the wait would have been significantly reduced had I made an appointment. “Does anyone need help identifying the misinformation provided, and how that can truly put one in a mood?!” It’s this lack of respect for their customers’ time that I find horrific, and given the few VOLVO dealers in the Greater New York Area - I will likely make the switch to a more customer service focused dealership much closer to home. To add insult to injury, I couldn’t even get someone to empty the coffee bin so that the coffee machine would work. Waited for assistance for the coffee machine for OVER A HOUR before giving up and walking to the nearby 7-11 (IN THE RAIN!!). It is expected that all dealerships can service the car, but so many dealerships neglect to focus on the customer experience while waiting in their waiting rooms. - David Morrison

The service in the dealership is good, however, could be better. I am choosing not to elaborate on this however, would rather give a testimonial to an exceptional salesperson/professional who is a walking knowledge book of the Volvo brand itself. Her name is Ingrid and she was not once, but multiple times more than generous with her knowledge and time. The real testament is that I leased my new Volvo with another salesperson. Ingrid had noting to gain by being so professional, helpful, courtesy and an all around team player. I called her a number of times when I needed some extra guidance and she was more than happy to help without hesitation. She is definitely the person I would want on my team if I owned a Volvo dealership. I would recommend Ingrid to anyone that is either leasing, buying or would just like some information about Volvo to absolutely contact Ingrid!
