The staff are nice. It's kept clean and maintained well. They also have a valet service. Priced fair for downtown Austin.

The hotel is old and not maintained very well. I was greeted by a dead cockroach outside the door and another dead bug of some sort in the bathroom. The door frame was in bad shape and had a pretty big gap. The bathroom doors were also in bad shape and wouldn't close all the way. On the positive side, the staff was friendly. The bed seemed clean and relatively comfortable. It was a convenient location for what I needed, but I will find a better maintained hotel next time.

Great location close to the Capitol. Room was clean and spacious. Valet attendants were very nice and accommodating.

Valet parking messed up my fender last weekend. Room was good. Problem is..valet parking is mandatory & you’re charged an additional $25 for parking. We drove our old car..thank goodness. Would’ve been a deal breaker for us if we had driven one of our 2018 vehicles. We use our old car for trips only. When leaving the motel, we approached the car from the back & didn’t see the damage. We drove straight home & parked. Just noticed the damage this evening. NOT HAPPY..but I’m sure it’s too late to report it now.

"You get what you paid for" truly applies to this La Quinta, which was more like a motel than a hotel. We had booked it for our weekend in Austin because we wanted to be downtown but pay under $200. It was a decent place and in a good location, but it is definitely dated and needs upgrading. The room was decent: good size, decent bed, but the heater/AC unit couldn't make up it's mind - it was very cold that weekend so we had the heat set to 72, but instead of shutting off when the temp reached that, the AC would kick in and blow out cool air... Unfortunately, because it was like a motel all the doors opened to air (no hallways in the building), so we could hear everything going on in the busy street in front of the hotel.
