  Best place to stay in downtown Austin if it's your first time (like us) but it is a bit tired in some parts and make sure you have a quiet room like we did!

  Tried the restaurant with my mom. Food was average and overpriced, so if you're going it's for the atmosphere, which is pretty swank. Would like to try staying there sometime. Did not see any ghosts!

  Interesting old hotel in a great location. Beautiful decor and atmosphere in the hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

  Only went to the bar, didn't stay at the hotel. The bar area is amazing. Giant, plush couches and chairs with nice decor. Great drinks!

  Old mediocre hotel and event space, very disappointing for a Hyatt. They don't have any non-smoking signs on the balcony, and neither is there any sort of a buffer room or space between the event space and the balcony, so, half of the big hall is filled with cigarette and cigar smoke whenever any sort of a major event is hosted (not to mention that the doors are single and have huge gaps in between). Disappointed crowded public bathroom — the stalls so tiny the door doesn't fully open, being precluded from doing so by the toilet — seriously? Driskil has great history, but any time I'm attending any event there, I'm hugely disappointed just how crappy the place really is. One time they had AC 100% broken for a huge IEEE party during SxSW, it was such a letdown.
