If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around... This was our first time to Texas. We traveled down for My husband’s exam at the JWmarriott but needed an affordable clean hotel close by. This Holiday inn express was exactly what we were looking for! Off the street parking in parking garage with elevators to the lobby. Edward was excellent—he checked us in and out ! He was very kind and excellent at his job! The pool area was gorgeous, the lobby was beautiful, the king sized bedroom we had was perfect for us! So clean and comfy (I wish I could have taken those pillows, blanket, and sheets home with us! Everything was perfect. Clean and within walking distance to all the shops and little restaurants. (We walked everywhere we went! It was a pleasant experience!). If you’re in downtown Austin, Texas and just looking for a clean, affordable, nice hotel with a nice clean pool area, free breakfast and walking distance to the Main Street this is your place! Thanks again Edward for the help & kindness! If we come back to TX, we’ll be back to stay here !

Clean, friendly, efficient. Bed & pillows are comfy. Pool is beautiful, heated, shallow but breath for laps. There is a fire pit that is lit every night. You can hear the music and jubilant crowd at Subbs from the fire pit lounge. Really saturates you with that Austin vibe. On a practical note...easy walk to convention center but use Red River instead of Neches.

A decent hotel when it comes to a modern look and amenities. Parking (self) is complicated, plan on using 2 separate elevators every time you go from your room to your car. Biggest complaint? While this hotel is marketed as "waling distance to downtown", you won't find yourself doing it. 1 block south is ARCH - a homeless center. There is almost always an encampment of 100+ homeless people all up and down the street. Blocking the sidewalks, and sleeping in every opening. Unless you want to get harassed for spare change and for an 'extra dollar' a dozen times before you get a block into your walk, you'l drive to the downtown every time you go - like we did. While I know the hotel can't control this mass of homeless right next door - they sure as hell charge to much for a 'downtown' hotel given that situation...

If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around... No more than a 20 minute walk from everything, on the city side of the freeway, and almost half the cost of other in town hotels. Courteous staff. Has a nice blackout curtain that is better than most 4 star hotels. The immediate locale isn't the greatest, but for the cost it's worth the two block walk.
