::My husband and I walked into the place thinking it's just your regular diner. After a moment of looking through the menu, we knew that we made a mistake... The soups are $10, sandwiches $20, specialties vary from $30 - $50. No milk or cheese on the menu (the deli is kosher), which we didn't realize upon entering. I am a vegetarian, and it was pretty tough for me to choose something. Everything on the menu is made with tongue, or some sort of red meat... Yuck. The meals on the menu reminded me of old-school Slovakian meals my grandmother would prepare. I ended up getting a mushroom omelette, which was pretty dry and flat. Edible, but probably the worst omelette I've ever had. The server kept giving us all these 'complimentary' things: pickles, weird cheap sour cabbage salad and then chocolate ice cream float (all items little weird and funny). Both our meals seemed kind of basic and cheap. I feel that the only thing you're paying for here is nostalgia (although some of the meals did remind me of my Slovakian grandmother's cuisine, nostalgia did not do it for me). Later, we just laughed at the whole experience. Not going back, though.

::I had a very good experience at the Deli. The food was absolutely incredible. Very old school, the kind of food my Grandmother used to make for us for Shabbat. The matzoh ball soup was great, and by itself could have been enough for dinner, but of course I had a double decker sandwich that was out of this world. The side dishes were just like what my Grandmother used to make. The Kasha Varnishkas were so good that I ordered a portion to go too. Just an incredible experience.

::What a sandwich! What more can I say... I had to take the second half of my sandwich home with me. This was like sitting in an old NYC movie and getting such authentic cuisine. Thank you. Bless the memory of Abe L.

::Food was traditionally deli and new York! They had an interesting take on pigs and blankets but still good. Service was impeccable and really good. Have to try the dessert very savoury. We left our payment card with the bill and they happily held unto it till we could get back and pick it up.
