  Nice property although a bit dated and in need of better maintenance. Lobby ceiling has water damage, lights that don't work, etc. And you can tell that they just push dirty mop water around and hit the baseboards with the mop. Lots of traffic around, and location isn't ideal for feeling like a local. Still a nice place though.

  I previously posted a really nice review about The James Soho, but Google is prompting a review so here we go...the James is hospitality done right. Quiet, low-key professionalism, very easy check-in each time we've gone, immaculate rooms/suites and bathrooms, awesome views of the streets of NY and the sky (we love the corner rooms), and it seems like they have a really nice signature scent wafting throughout the whole place. The upstairs bar lounge has an outdoor area and pool, and again the views are wonderful! Really cool music, dim lighting, and a great layout makes it feel sophisticated and cool at the same time...and don't get me started on the food from the David Burke Kitchen downstairs...amazing food! Where else can you have lobster salad on endive leaves and bacon hanging on a clothesline all in the same place?? The James is upscale, the staff is always helpful and friendly, and we always look forward to going back. Thank you, James Soho! Joe and Donna

  The James Hotel is hospitality done right. The first thing you notice upon entering is the very pleasant smell wafting through the whole place. Entire staff from the concierge to the people who bring you room service are very friendly and helpful. My husband and I stayed there on our anniversary for a few days during New Year's 2018 and hotel management was very kind to us...Caposaldo is our new prosecco! We've stayed there about 3 times over the last two years, excellent service every single time! The rooms/suites are immaculate and I just love the bathrooms. They should really get 10 stars because of how comfortable and welcomed they make you feel. We see zero reason to stay any where else when we visit the city. Thank you James! J & D

  Friendly staff, good food (at a price), trendy aesthetic and comfortable amenities. Stayed here for a couple of nights to celebrate a birthday and anniversary and we had a wonderful time, the location is convenient (if can you manage to leave your room) and there's obviously plenty in the area to keep you entertained. Our room only had a single pillow when we arrived, but they brought us another in minutes. In general the front desk was very helpful and the concierge has plenty of assistance to offer. Worth a return visit.

  Rooms are nicely decorated, and of an average size for an NYC hotel. There's an amazing restaurant and bar on the first floor, and some very nice outdoor spaces in the middle of Soho. My complaints are a lack of attention to detail. There aren't enough it conveniently placed outlets. The bathroom doesn't have a vent fan. It doesn't seem to get too steamy, but because the bathroom is a glass box, there's no sound isolation. Being in the room is basically like being in the bathroom acoustically. A vent fan would at least help mitigate that.
