Definitely a historic hotel that has been updated and probably need some additional updating. The bar and restaurant are both nice. It is across the street from the theatre which is nice. Rooms were adequate nothing special bed with a little uncomfortable but overall a good stay

Have stayed here quite a few times when visiting San Antonio and it's been pleasant everytime. Beds are nice and comfortable with arguably one of the better pillows I've used at hotels (not too thick and good balance between soft and firm). Location is within walking distance of the Riverwalk and other popular downtown hot spots. Hotel itself has character blending old architecture and new although some people might prefer keeping it old. Staff has always been nice and helpful as well.

If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around... Nice towels and bedding. Comfortable mattress. Friendly helpful staff. Great location near the River Walk and downtown. Two things reduce my rating; 1) they turned off the AC for repairs 6am-6pm on a hot summer day, and 2) the hotel ran out of regular coffee. I'm not joking, they only had decaf for the in-room coffee makers. Seems like poor planning/poor management.

The lobby and club rooms are very nice. Club room had good wines and hot breakfast. The location is also great, just 3 minutes walk from the Riverwalk. The rooms are large but in need of an uplift. Furniture and paint look very old. One of the rooms I stayed in had a mild smell. I did not notice it after a while, but definitely did when I walk in.
