Service and stay was surprisingly horrible. I have stayed at other Holiday Inn and have not had issues. Ceiling was stained and had numerous unprofessional patch work as if they had leaks. The room felt as if there was high moisture. The curtains were very dirty and even had signs of mold. We tried showering and called the desk to let them know we had no hot water. They said we had to let the water run for at least 10 min before hot water will come out. We requested towels at the beginning of our stay and no one ever brought them up. That was the same outcome when requesting the luggage cart. Nothing was brought up. I was really surprised on how horrible the stay turned out to be. We will definitely NOT return.

Just checked in. I had to stay here due to an event requirement. If I were on my own agenda I would have saddled right up and got out. The bathtubs are a petri dish of God knows what. We'll make the best of it for the next two days then you can see a full in-depth review at trip advisor. ***"Originally I said you could see the whole gory story at Trip Advisor. They pulled it. Said it violated the TOS. Was the pictures of the bath tub stained a hideous tint of red that you wondered who came to the end of their horrible demise? Was it the comments about the breakfast buffet where they sat us at community tables which can be cool for the human connection AND communicable diseases when nothing was ever wiped down, they could not keep the food replenished fast enough. I guess since I am updating this two years later I must still feel some way about this. Bitter? Party of One?

Late evening meal was very slow to arrive to the table, asked for milk for our toddler and it was slightly colder than room temperature. Elevators are not easy to find initially. The hotel lobby was very musty and humid feeling. The room had and air conditioner that runs constantly and if you know anything about ac units, when they finish providing cold air and go to fan only, it just pumps humid air back into the room, contributing to a sticky feeling in our particular room. Onto the good, tons of parking all around the hotel. Short walk to Market Square and a short drive to the River Walk (we parked on Presa St. a short walk to the River Walk from there). When you want the ac to cool the room down, it does so quickly. Kuerig worked good in the room (they provide two pods, but if you like certain flavors, you'll want to bring your own). Mini fridge functioned well, but had no freezer (to refreeze ice packs that we prefer to use in our cooler). Beds were fair and square, not cratered like some hotels I've been to. Bottom line: if you need a place to stay at a reasonable price, this will likely be it, but don't come here with high expectations. Food pricing in the hotel is way higher than the quality, plan on eating out of you want to save a buck and want a bit more quality. Would I stay here again, you bet, unless I find something comparable price wise.

Old infrastructure, poor service. They did not include the poorly served breakfast. I thought they would only charge for extra guests. When the waitress asked for my tickets I went to front desk and she send me back to table saying it was fine. I got a ticket for 4 breakfast... The good item in the entire menu: coffee. Poor front desk service.

The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was great. I would have to say the best part about this hotel was a guy named Steve. Steve runs the shuttle and gives free rides to the Riverwalk and market Square. Steve was EXTREMELY informative about the San Antonio area and gave my wife and I coupons to different areas to eat at. We ended up doing most of the things he recommended and had a great vacation.
