The location was great with some street parking. Check in was quick and easy. The room was clean and had everything needed. We didn't cook and used very little of the dishes in the kitchenette. The pool was pretty standard with a hot tub, but no clean towels. Complimentary breakfast had a wide selection of food and was better than most other hotels. Check out was a breeze online. I rated four stars because our room was at the very end of the hall, which could be because we had kids, but also due to no towels in the pool area.

Overall, this was a good hotel experience. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. It is a really cool area in Portland that had a nice vibe. The free breakfast had a good selection and was tasty. Service at the hotel was excellent! Some cons to be aware of: Connectivity to wifi and cell service is sketchy and it was annoying! For being in a trendy spot, I would think more effort would be put into help their guests connect. On lower floors, do not expect a view. We looked out onto a roof and the other side had a view of the substation across the street. We did have issues with our toilet and heard the same from several friends who were also staying at the same hotel. Parking is $35/day - UGH! It was a good stay and regardless of the downsides, I would stay there again.

I have been staying at this Marriott for about 2-3 years off and on when I travel to Portland. I generally find this place accommodating, clean and central to many things downtown. I recently had a couple pieces of property stolen by maid services and notified the staff. Nothing was done and they stated they would "look for it". Overall a nice place to stay, but beware of your belongings and make sure to lock anything valuable up or take it with you if you plan on having your room cleaned.

The room was awesome. The breakfast one of the biggest and best I've had ever at a motel. the staff also very friendly. And helpful. I personally think the 35 dollars to park at the motels own parking structure was absolute bull $#!t. On 2 and 3 hundred dollar rooms when all the 100 dollar rooms at surrounding motels had free parking. But maybe I'm outta touch. And the elevator was either malfunctioning or just severely over welmed around breakfast time. I had trouble even finding the stair case as did dozens of others just so I could pack my luggage down 4 flights of stairs just to check out.

I was really impressed with the quality of amenities at this downtown hotel. Even on a sold out weekend I was still upgraded to a "water view" suite. The breakfasts while very busy were good and I enjoyed (get this) the oatmeal! Usually it tastes a bit funky at hotels, but theirs was super good! The coffee of course was also really spot on. The only issue I really had was that parking was $26 a day. As a platinum guest I feel that this should be included in the stay as a perk of spending more time in hotels than in my own home... but that's just me and most people probably plan for the fee. I myself did not... which for a stay of a day or two isn't *that* bad, but 3-5 days and ouch!
