This is one of the best hotels for business travelers downtown. Work brings me to Portland every few months, and this is where I'll stay from now on. New and nice rooms, good quality breakfast and coffee starting at 6:30 on weekdays, 24/7 valet parking, and very quiet. It's also decently priced per night, though you'll make up for it with the $37 overnight parking charge, ouch. That's similar to other valet services in the area though. There's also a rooftop deck on the second floor with fire pits going in the evening. The front desk staff is nice enough, but I had to find out about the deck by looking out my window. The bar happy hour is the latest I've seen in Portland, ending at 7pm so plenty of time to hang out after stressful meetings all day. The hotel isn't right on the water, so no great views from the rooms, but it's close enough for a nice walk through a small garden to the waterfront.

Good value, location, and staffing. Clean and modern, comfortable beds. As mentioned by others, parking is by Valet only and is pricey (to be expected anywhere downtown though). Kitchenette was fully functional and all of the basics were provided. Breakfasts were decent but very busy. Three stars instead of two since a fire alarm went off one of the nights of our stay and we had to evacuate due to a cooking incident in one of the units. Staff didn't facilitate return to the rooms via the stairs very well and there was quite a bit of confusion. Would probably return.

Super clean, new hotel close to downtown Portland. Within walking distance if you are willing to walk 15-20 minutes. Fantastic breakfast service each day. Great exercise facility. Room was perfect for our family with a kitchenette and suite style room. I would definitely stay here again. Price was also reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. One other plus was being able to walk along the river to the Sat/Sun market.

I stayed here last month and my overall experience was above average. I would definitely stay here again!  The hotel is clean and modern.  It's especially a great choice for couples with kids due to the bigger floor plan options.  It's probably a good 20-30 minute walk from the hotel to downtown should you choose to walk. But there is a streetcar stop right next to it which is very convenient.  The other cool thing about the hotel location is it sits right next to the waterfront trail and there are several attractions within a 30-minute walk, which is also fabulous! I don't know if it's normal for the in-house bar to only have a single staff running it but I went down on a Saturday night and it was really busy.  He obviously wasn't doing a good job handling it. Anyways, I went down to buy wine and a piece of cheesecake to go and I stood by the bar for like 10-15 minutes (maybe longer) waiting to be served.  The staff member was nowhere to be found.  When he finally showed up from hiding, he looked very flustered.  It probably didn't help that there was a couple bus loads of synchronized figure skating competitors staying at the hotel with some of their family members that weekend. Just for that, I'm willing to write off the poor customer service I received, just his once . The pool and workout room were a good size and quite a few machines and free weights to use.  On the downside, the pool's PH level might have been too high.  My 7 year old Niece got a rash from what we think was from a chlorine burn.  Her face was itchy even after taking a shower with soap.  The next day the couple we saw at the pool (that were there previous day) said their two daughters also got an itchy face and on their body. They do charge a separate fee for valet parking ($37/night) with in and out privilege.  However, this is typical for hotels in downtown very close to downtown.  If you opt out, they have street parking (feed the meter) but it limited, first come first served. There are two car garage options really close by as well, which have way cheaper rates and there's a security guard that patrols it. Overnight parking up to 14 hours is $12. It's probably one of the cheapest in town for a public garage parking. Other than the bad service, pool situation, and parking options, this place is great. The location grew on me as it's right next to the waterfront and trail.  The clean & spacious rooms also made up for it. Oh I almost forgot the free continental breakfast and daily omelette specials!

Hyatt delivers again and again. This place was awesome, we really enjoyed it. The street car has a stop right beside the hotel which makes moving through the city a breeze. The breakfast was excellent, as always. We would certainly stay here again if we needed to stay in the city.
