A very authentic, rustic, true feel of old New Orleans place to stay. It shows its age and that's what makes it so awesome.

I called for rates and he told me prices. I asked if I could get a discount if I got 2 rooms and he said he don't bargain and hung up on me ! Very rude!

I would love to tell everyone this place is horrible and not to stay there...just so I know I would be able to get a room there when I want it!!! If you're looking for all shiny and new, then you need to look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a true, historic and rustic New Orleans experience, you won't find a better place than Biscuit Palace. You can just feel the history of the whole Quarter when you stay there. And the location absolutely cannot be beat...walking distance to everything from the French Market to Bourbon Street to even Harrah's or Frenchmen Street (if you're up for a longer hike). Being right across the street from Clover Grill doesn't hurt, either. Great place to start out with the day breakfast or finish up the night with a great burger. If a little age and wear and tear bothers you, what are you doing in the French Quarter in the first place. But if you are looking for a great New Orleans experience and a welcoming and helpful staff, you really should try this place. We've stayed there two years in a row now and have already booked our room for 2012, and would rather change the dates of our trip because they were already booked than stay anywhere else.

I just don't get why this place is getting such nice reviews?! When we went to stay at the Biscuit Palace, we definately were not expecting a Hyatt or Marriott, but at least a Motel 6? Our room was filthy dirty, and smelled musty. We stayed the one night, only because we came in too late, to find another accommodation. When walking around this room, I did not even remove my shoes, fearing of what some of the stains in the carpet were....Prior to going to sleep, I removed all the nasty worn out linens, and placed the worn out, but clean, bath towels over the mattress, and used a pair of my jeans as a pillow, because the pillows were absolutely worn out, mystery stains all over them! yuck! After having no sleep (worrying the whole night about slipping off of the towels, and touching anything), I called Clayton, first thing in the morning, to tell him we were checking out....I was nice and told him the place, just wasn't for us, and was going to tell him why, when he hung up on me! Nice for a hotel owner to be concerned about his guests stay....I did not bother calling him back.....Don't go to this place as you may catch something....filthy filthy dirty...

This hotel, which is decorated in an eclectically grand shabby chic fashion that mirrors the city itself, was lovely for a stay in New Orleans. It's centrally located in the French Quarter within walking distance of everything and was a good value! The innkeeper Clayton was super helpful and friendly - offering to lend us a parking pass to use and providing useful information about the city and its sites. (Don't bring a car if you can get away with it! - Parking is hard to find and expensive when you do find it.) It's not a chain hotel but its central location and its character more than make up for that.
