  High quality foods and absurdly high prices, although their large beer selection is reasonably priced. Cafe Umbria is in there (with only 3 tables for customers) despite being immediately next door to a Starbucks. Zupans should have a much larger seating area and 30% lower prices on most items.

  Great produce and meats. Very spendy! You might have to stop by the bank on your way...

  My favorite market in Portland. Go to the meat counter and ask a question. You'll get a dissertation on meat if you want. Ask for a recommendation. They steer me toward the less expensive options all the time. Just incredibly helpful staff at this good. Good produce, fantastic meat, great bakery and deli. This store is not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. All the poor reviews over price is like giving a Porsche dealer bad reviews for the cars being too expensive. They cost what they cost. If you don't want great meat or deli food, go elsewhere and pay less. It's very easy to just not shop there if it's too expensive. But I don't get the point of a bad rating for it. It costs more because the food it better - it's that simple. And no I don't shop there for everything. Fred Meyer and other options are close enough. QFC is about 2 miles away up Barnes as well.

  Good food selection. Prepared foods a bit expensive. Most of the staff super friendly. My cashier however must have had a bad day as she never acknowledged me...Miss the one they had on SE Belmont

  Everything is of the highest quality and beautifully displayed. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Most items are also higher priced, but if you want top quality produce, fresh meats and seafood, fancy deli and bakery, and luxury wines and more, Zupan's may be for you. The wide variety of sausages they make are why I go out of my way to shop here.
