  Love the fresh pasta, meats and cheeses. The staff is always fabulous, too.

  I love with this place stands for. There are special products and Food items that you can't find any place else that are available here. I almost took away one star because of the astronomical prices. Mind, I am an Old School Portlander and I don't have the kind of cash that the new folks moving in, so there's always sticker shock. But if you're looking for that special food with fun memories of home and history you'll probably find it here. And also the quality is good. In a culture of mass production this is one of the last refuges for individuation.

  Expensive of course, but the best place in town if you are cooking a dope meal yourself.
