  Was actually looking for a place to set up and play guitar and thought it might work. I may give it a try. Went in to get something for dinner. Found it easy to just pop in and get a few things and used the self-check out. Was clean and well-stocked.

  Employees very nice BUT store unsafe at entrance and exits. Some harassing homeless always there. Dogs (not for assistance) in store often sniffing, licking merchandise. Homeless graze self serve Chinese and salad bar as well as bulk section.Yuk! It seems employees can't do much about it for their own safety. Pharmacy not safe to stand line due to security issues. It's just getting worse.

  Nice and friendly staff. Great selection wheelchair accessible. One door to the store locks around 8 to control the flow of people. There are some issues with homeless population that causes the store to have security at times.

  To many bums hanging out front and inside charge g their phones near the gum ball machines. Store is great. But shouldn't allow panhandlers to be outside.

  I moved away from the Pearl to the inner Eastside and still cross the bridge to visit this Safeway. The Lloyd Center location is not comparable at all (through no fault of the regular employees it appears). Henrik, Baldwin, Sasha and all the people at the pharmacy have become like good friends over the past year of helping me live better through chemistry. The Blue whatever bar just as you walk in is awesome. Either of the guys you run into there are really cool and it's a perfect place to consume alcohol while you wait for your scripts that say you are not allowed to consume alcohol with to be filled. Self-checkout machines are out to get me. I guess I twitch or it's the backpack or I am in some database. I don't want to steal your bagels! Thankfully whomever is stuck as head honcho up front on the given day is always quick to respond and let me proceed with my (alleged) larcenous tendencies. Hey it's hard out there.......but from pills to produce to people; it's a little bit easier thanks to the Pearl Safeway.
