I'm new to the Maryland area. I tried getting a new patient appointment with JHCP. I couldn't find any available appointments online, so I called and waited for my turn to be helped. Their EARLIEST appointment for new patients was November! Keep in mind the date that I made this call was 23 May 2023! And they searched schedules on ALL their locations! Even if I was to drive to a location 30-60 minutes away, my appointment was still going to be at least 5 months out. I get wanting to keep appointment slots available for existing patients, but good grief! What kind of message is a medical organization sending to newcomers when the SOONEST they will see someone is OVER FIVE MONTHS away?! That really is completely inexcusable. I'm on a few medications for chronic conditions. I'm from a completely different state, so my previous doctors CANNOT authorize refills for that long now that I'm in Maryland. Way to go JHCP! What a "perfect" way to welcome newcomers to the area...."Oh, you need help? Get in line, we're going to keep you waiting 5 to 6 months because that's our policy and because we can! It doesn't matter what treatments you need to continue in order to stay healthy. Good luck!" It's ridiculous that medical and dental practices are allowed to get away with this. They know they hold a monopoly - of sorts - and they're willing to put people through this with no real thought to the impacts that they have on people that they REFUSE to see in a timely manner. Because that's what this is. A *refusal* to render medical care. It's not emergency care at this time, but it can become an emergency issue because they won't allow new patients a reasonably timed appointment. But I'm willing to bet they have plenty of appointments available in the next few weeks for current patients and that they keep a few spaces open for same-day appointments. SHAME on you JHCP! You do know that "do no harm" includes not forcing people to put off routine care for undue lengths of time, right? Disgusting, and completely unworthy of the name "Johns Hopkins".

We love Dr. Holden, he has gone above and beyond our expectations. His demeanor is professional and approachable. His attention to detail is exceptional... We are very happy with the care received at this office.

Horrible practice, I was needing help with medication for my asthma and was told to see my Primary Care Dr or if it was urgent to go to the emergency room, otherwise I could see the doctor in two to three weeks. I was needing help now to fix my asthma flare up that has lasted 3 three weeks. I do not recommend this office. Consistently told there is no appointments for several weeks. Whatโ€™s the point when you need a Dr. you generally need one in the next day or two at the most especially if chronic conditions get worse- a 10 minute office visit should not be so hard to get. Iโ€™m dropping them and finding a new practice and Doctor. A mismanaged office, poor service.

Iโ€™ve been seeing dr Salvaterra and Dr Holden since 2015. Both of them have been AWesome! Excellent care inpatient and outpatient. Being on the lung transplant waiting list is not easy and they have been extremely proactive and supportive since day 1. Lately Iโ€™ve found that scheduling the next follow up appt is best done before leaving the office because they are generally booked up about 2-3 months ahead. However, they will ALWAYS make space in their schedule if you need to be admitted or seen right away.

Worst service ever! I went to Johns Hopkins Community Physicians - Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine because of trouble breathing. It was suggested that I get a CAT scan of my lungs., which I did. I received a voice mail (which I could not understand) two days later. I called them and they said a medical assistant would call me back. When did not hear from them by the end of the week, I called them back. When I got home, I had a message that it was not normal, it looked like I had an infection and it would be discussed at my next followup appointment. I just called them to try to schedule an appointment with a different doctor (I don't care for him), I was told I could not switch doctors. I kindly let them know I would not be returning and would find a new doctor.
