I canā€™t vouch for Daveā€™s Forklift Repair Servicesā€™ work, but if itā€™s anything like their driving or sense of personal responsibility, I wouldnā€™t go anywhere near this company. Was in the middle lane of 820 near Bryant Irvin when a service truck from Dave's cut across the front of my truck and into the far left lane; the truck had been going the speed limit but sped up to get around me. As the truck passed, an object flew from the back of the truck into my windshield, leaving a quarter-sized deep chip. There was a small car on either side of me, neither of which was ahead of me, so the truck had to be the vehicle that threw the object into mine. I immediately moved over to the far left lane so I could get the truckā€™s license number. The truck then sped up drastically, driving 80+ mph down the highway. I was not able to catch the truck until White Settlement Road, several miles later. I wasnā€™t comfortable driving that fast, so I got the license plate number and company information, then dropped back down to the speed limit. I called Daveā€™s to log the complaint, left my number, and continued home. The next morning, I took my truck into a glass repair shop. While the shop sealed the chip to prevent it from cracking, they could not repair it. The shop employee who sealed the crack made the observation that ā€œwhatever made that chip was moving really fast, because that is really really deep.ā€ The chip is directly in my line of sight and very noticeable, despite the shopā€™s best efforts. The cost to replace the windshield was quoted to me at $200 or less. This is less than my insurance deductible and will be an out of pocket expense to me. I called Daveā€™s again, and was answered by Debbie, who sounds like sheā€™s been smoking for the last 50 years. She interrupted me continuously, refused to listen, and became very condescending in her defense of the service truck driver. (After researching the company, I believe the driver was Dave, her husband.) I was laughed at since Debbie ā€œguess(es) I just donā€™t understand how debris on the road works,ā€ and told that the company would absolutely not take responsibility for the damage done to my vehicle. Debbie also refused to acknowledge that driving a service truck of heavy weight at such a high speed was unsafe. I understand wanting to get off work and home after a long day, but I also understand that speed limits are created for a reason. Negligent driving at reckless speeds in heavy service trucks causes damage like that done to my vehicle. A morally bankrupt company denies responsibility, even when they are clearly at fault, just as Daveā€™s did to me. Personally, I would choose to do business elsewhere ā€“ with a company that will treat everyone with respect, and that will take full responsibility for their actions. Steer clear of Daveā€™s ā€“ in your business dealings, and on the road!
