I'm glad I didn't bring my family here lol. I came in on Thursday for lunch with my cousin bc I saw good reviews and have wanted to try this place. Our server was kind of a dick. I asked him if the portion sizes were shareable or individual and he immediately gave me an attitude and made it seem like our money was no good there if we shared an entree. We ended up getting 2 entrees and an app and it was so salty! I drank an entire days worth of water in a span of an hour maybe. It'll be the last time I go there, for sure.

I like going to Uncle Joe's especially if I'm going downtown for an event at the convention center or performing arts complex so I am more familiar with their dinner portions and menu. I don't think it's entirely authentic but it has elements of it nor do I think it's completely Americanized. It's certainly 'family style', which is common in the the culture but you can get-by ordering your own meal. Their chashu is slightly sweeter than traditional chasu, five spice tofu is yummy and their jade stir fry is a good dish to get your greens. Two dishes is just enough for two people and three is perfect if you like a variety.

We have been coming here for a year or so and loved it. The service has decidedly gone way downhill. I understand things happen, some shifts are insane, etc. but the last three times we were here food was dropped off by someone other than our server (totally fine with food runners! That's not the issue) as the last time we saw our server was when they took our order. No check in to see how the food was, no "hey, your glasses have been empty since before you got your food, would you like another cocktail or glass of wine with your food", nothing at all. When we finally did flag them down, it was to huge attitude and eye rolling as if we had interrupted them. Flagging them down was also quite the task as they were going out of their way to not go by their tables. As I said, it was the last three times and three different servers. None of these times were overly busy. Three strikes with consistently bad service and you're out. Too bad, because the food and service used to be good (hate the change to the Jumping Chicken). It is almost as if the servers were trained to be that awful because all three of them acted the exact same way. As a former server myself, we go out of our way to be friendly and understanding to our servers....if only they could do the same to their paying customers.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Uncle Joe's! By far one of my favorite places to take dates or clients to in Denver! Everyone who works there is always happy and in a great mood. The owner has put so much detail into every aspect of this restaurant. Last time I went we ordered a few appetizers to split and for my main course I ordered the Prawn & Scallop. Scallops can be so easily overdone but NOT at Uncle Joe's, their Scallops are PERFECT! Plus they make fresh noodles in house and the X.O. sauce is fantastic. My other favorite part of the menu is their cocktail selection! I ordered the Screaming Dragon and is was so freaking cool, it was green and had some pineapple juice in it which I love. Everything is reasonably priced and I'll be back again and a
