  The style team are very skilled and always exhibit pleasant and professional demeanor. They are respectful of the client's time where there's no overbooking. The atmosphere is pleasant. My stylist is interested in helping me have healthy, beautiful hair beyond the day that I leave the salon, and it's grown strong and long since I began in 2014.

  Best salon I've been to in D.C. Everyone is so friendly and so professional. The salon is clean and inviting. So happy I found it!

  Everyone was friendly, inviting and professional.The shop looks very professional. Gwen seems awesome. I believe she can assist me with my hair issues.The hair -care products I purchased seem to be of a very high quality.

  I've known the owner of Halcyon for 25 years. She taught me how to take care of my hair which begins at the scalp. So many of us are brought up to think that we should wear our hair a certain way but we can quickly become slaves to our hair. Gwen & her staff educate you on how to take care of your hair in a healthy way. Your appointment time is your appointment time & you're always listened to when you express any concerns. Top-notch salon!

  Halycon is my favorite salon in D.C. It is the one I go to for everything! Consults, blow outs, color, eyebrows, conditioning treatments ... you name it, I've had it done here with either my main stylist Gwen Fields or other stylists Joelle and Ashley. I highly recommend all three. Gwen is excellent for color and is SUPER knowledgeable about all types of hair, hair health and the salon is run under her philosophy (which is brilliant). Joelle and Ashley are master blow out artists and can really work a flat iron creating any style you desire. Gwen's philosophy is all about beauty and bliss, nurturing your hair while operating in a gorgeous, relaxing professional environment. Emphasis on PROFESSIONAL. While you snack on complimentary nuts, popcorn or trailmix, sipping the free bottled water and/or the red or white wine, you get an unparalleled experience where the stylists are ALWAYS happy to see you. ALWAYS on time. ALWAYS professional. And ALWAYS willing to go the extra mile. The salon isn't cheap, but for me who's had hair horror after hair horror, it's perfect. Gone are the late, unfriendly, grumpy stylists who just wanted to put a perm in my head and recoiled at shampooing my thick curly hair, often avoiding the back of my head entirely. Instead, I enjoy the fine work of the women of Halcyon and their prompt start times and dedication to clean, thorough, massaging shampoos can take my money. I'm always happy with the end result and both my sanity and my hair are better for it.
