Horrible at communication via email or calling back. At least the visa department is. I waited exactly a week for them to let me know I was missing documents after sending my student visa application in through mail from San Antonio. I even tried contacting them 2 days after sending it after realizing I may have messed something up. My timeline was very short as it was (due to financial reasons), so a timely email could have prevented more stress on my part. Just a horrible experience. I wish I vould have just taken the trip up to Houston to clear things in person. Still waiting and might need to change my flight plans.

I went to get my passport renewed. I thought the guy who helped me with the process /paper work, was very kind and nice. He called me when my ID pic wasn't suited for the requirements and told me what I needed to do make it better. He even called me when my passport is ready to go so I can come in without any consequences. Not sure he was courteous because I live 3 hrs away from Houston or maybe that's how they do things. I was actually surprised when he called me since it's government office, you won't expect them to be nice, but this guy was helpful and very polite mannered man.

The front Japanese substitute lady was nice. One thing that disappoint me was the incomplete requirements in their website. They just mention to provide a copy of green card. When I got there, the lady said that they require front and back copy. If so, they need to update their requirements accordingly. Thus, I had to walk across to the other building to make one photo copy of the back of my green card.

They're very bureaucratic, especially that Caucasian female staff there, she's SUPER ATTITUDE. Make sure having everything perfect before go in there and deal with that white chick!
