After a few drinks, there are few things better in the world than a slice (or two) of Big Mario's to end the night. The crisp they get on the crust when they throw it back in the oven is just amazing.

Pizza by the slice in a quiet atmosphere. Great place for dining alone or with friends. Alcohol served to those of age. Several different choices of pizza flavors to choose from.

This place serves dried up card-board for pie. Gross. Apparently good for an after the bar snack. I'll never eat there again. The bartender was super cool though. Jen rocks!

Honestly, I never do reviews. Ever. In fact, this is my first. As somebody who works in the service industry and who advocates strongly for workers, I found most “reviews” of places to be needless griping by entitled customers. But, like... I’ve had Big Mario’s before. I like it much more than Hot Mama’s. Last night I swung by a little after midnight starving after work, and when I went in saw they had a nice specialty, thicker crusted pizza with tomato, arugula, and feta. I asked for that which is $4.75, thinking it’d be a more flavorful version of their cheese pizza. What I got was... I mean, I’m not exaggerating here, but... it tasted exactly like Digiorno, or at lest what I remember that frozen hell to have tasted like. The crust was extremely thick with a chewy texture, there was borderline no sauce, and the cheese was completely dry. It was entirely different than anything I’ve ever had from them, and honestly just shockingly bad. I ended up giving it away after a couple bites. I considered going back with it and requesting something different or a refund, but I didn’t want to be that person (because I hate *that* person myself). I want to give the benefit of the doubt, but that was genuinely the worst pizza I’ve ever paid money for. I’m not sure if I’d go back, despite having been a fan before. People who work there are great though, for the record.

Great slices of pizza, staff is amazingly friendly and helpful, security is also very professional and friendly. Bar is small but great, bartenders always nice and quick with the booze. Only complaints are the drunk idiots that plague Capitol Hill/Big Mario's and are drawn to the pizza like moths to a flame around 2AM. Btw, the door is SUPER easy to open if you know how to read. Haha. Leftover pizza at the end of the night is left outside for the less fortunate. Nice touch guys!
