  We really loved this place. I’ve seen several reviews saying the food isn’t great but we loved everything! I got a chili dog and a slaw dog and they were great. I really loved the onion rings better than the fries. The frosted orange was so good. We got a few little magnets from the gift shop. It was very busy when we went in but we were directed to another line by a very nice police officer who told us the quickest line to go to.

  How could anyone live with no Varsity! If you have never been in the original varsity in downtown Atlanta next to Georgia Tech, then you are in for a treat! It is unbelievable how many people they can serve as fast as they serve with very very few snide remarks from customers because the employees are paid well to expedite and accurately fill the orders. I have seen hundreds of people there after major sports events. It is so comfortable in there that Sports opponents can dissociate friendly! It is truly a unique place. I have been going there for over 50 years and almost nothing has changed. The food is at the top of the list of delicious and fast foods.

  Onion rings, orange drink, and a pimento cheese burger--do it! This place is worth checking out! The ambiance is authentic. It is not the cleanest, but I feel it is worth checking out. I felt as though locals go here. There is also ice cream for dessert and it is economical!

  This place is nostalgic to me, an Atlanta native, but it definitely caters to tourists and guests. There's great parking but it's also very close to a Marta station. When I was younger, we'd ride the train down there. Yes, we had transportation but my mom wanted is to know how to ride the train. So, it's a semi tradition since I do the exact same thing with my son about twice a year. The food is simple and basic but good and the atmosphere and decor is cool too. But if you don't enjoy crowds or noise...this might not be the place for you. Try the drive in.

  The food is good, not necessarily great but this is a classic. The onion rings are great! The frosted orange is really enjoyable as well. If you are in Atlanta you need to come by and try it. The energy in the space is amazing. I think it is always packed. The staff work like an efficient machine. There is so much going on it is hard to take it all in. The bottom line is if you are in Atlanta go to the The Varsity on North Avenue and then take a walk around the Georgia Tech campus to walk off some calories.
