This is a must stop for anyone who needs a cup of tea and a crumpet in the morning (English muffins wish they were this tasty). I have been a patron for more than 15 years. And remember the Crumpet Shop gives you free refills on your tea so take your cup and stroll the market, admire the flowers, maybe huddle under the eves in the rain and then grab a refill before heading home. Remember during high season the line can be long due to the tourist crowds, but these crumpets are worth it. Sweet or savory, there is something for every palate or mood. I highly recommend the pesto and tomato or for a sweet treat try the ricotta cheese and preserves (the lemon curds are famous). If you want a real sweet indulgence get the "Vermont". You cannot go wrong at The Crumpet Shop! P.S. Rember to bus your own plates when you are done, the bins are under the tea pots across from the silverware.

I don’t know if this is public knowledge, but a crumpet is similar to an English muffin, but with much more flavor. The crumpet shop is a blessing in Pike’s Market Place. I went in and ordered a crumpet with butter and honey and ate it in the restaurant. What a peaceful break to enjoy this crumpet in the midst of the craziness of Pike’s Place. Everyone working here was so kind and helpful. I would love to come back / can you please consider opening up a spot in Boston???? Pretty please with crumpets on top?

Our foodie high point comes as we stumble across The Crumpet Shop. We arrive as they’re closing, and running out of crumpets, so we’re offered “employee crumpets”, the less beautiful crumpets that they don’t sell to customers. We’re ecstatic, we came for the taste, not the look of the crumpets. Our choice of toppings: the maple butter. It’s amazing! The crumpet is both soft and crunchy, the maple butter is sweet and flavorful. Win! The shop’s staff are superb: friendly and enthusiastic about their products, their quality, their provenance. As the customers slowly filter out we chat about all the things, have a chance to try their tasty chai, and make plans to return someday for their savory crumpets.

I am reviewing a single item on the menu. I had the green eggs and salmon with tomato on top. The green eggs are eggs with pesto mixed in which is a home favorite of mine. The salmon consisted of a smoked salmon cheap cheese which I expected to be Lachs and cheese separate (European style). Lastly, a single tomato on top, which was a tasteless colorless tomato. Low quality and a disappointment. The crumpet it’s self was light and airy, perfectly bubbly as I hopped. The best part of the dish. Taste: 4/5 Presentation: 3/5 Texture: 4/5 Crumpet itself: 5/5 I don’t rate service, it’s not important to me unless it’s awful. But this service was average. Overall I’d bring my friends in the future to try some other flavors as I’ve only tasted savory but sweet sounds amazing as well.

Any time i get a chance, i get a crumpet! It's only about twice a year, but u rave about them! It's a bonus to get a seat next to the interior window when they're being made, love to watch the process. Get the local jam or honey, you won't be disappointed! Also have great coffee, both drip & espresso
