::Best swimming area I ever go in my life. Water is from Croton River down stream from the Croton Dam that is one of the supplies of drinking water to NYC so great water. Used to be much nicer when would swim future up towards Black Rock Park (Quaker Bridge) with the huge shady trees 🌲 along both banks of the river. See pictures. Children can play in the shallow waters near the sandy beach. Or climb the rocky ridge. In the upper part there's a bigger swimming area with alligator huge rock hidden under water to be found and stand on. One and holding close even 3 people can be on it at once but usually fall off. A must visit place BUT you need to be a Croton village or school district resident or have a friend from there to bring you as his/her guest. So be friendly and nice. Most Croton people are nice and even Croton police and park police 👮 . Note that there is a fee for swimming there. You can get a summer swimming pass. In all cases you have to have a resident ID.

::Great little hidden gem in Croton on Hudson, with swimming and a great place to just chill out. The swimming area has lifeguards but they do charge to get in even if a resident 👎👎. But if you go down the pathway and make a right away from the beach you'll see a fairly large gazebo. You can have lunch and walk down to the rocks and walk around or just enjoy mother nature's sounds.
