  I have been to the Croton Gorge Park where the New Croton Dam is. The surrounding area is where the Croton River meanders. I do not know exactly what the "Croton Gorge Unique Area" is. This whole area around the Gorge and the Croton River is simply magnificent. Will investigate further and keep you posted...

  Easy river kayaking for about a mile, then a great spot for swimming. Drive through and past the croton train station for parking and out in. You'll see turtles and the.occasional heron and eagle. Avoid low tide and holidays.
