  The staff is knowledgeable. Prices are pretty good and the usually have what I need. It's good to shop at the smaller places for small business.

  The staff followed us around and made my family feel very UNCOMFORTABLE so we will not visit this store again. I don't know the reason for being so closely monitored (although I do have one overriding theroy), nor do I know if this happens to anyone shopping. Regardless, it is not a good business practice as it makes an inimical environment for customers. Below are details: My husband, two kids, and I went to this establishment specifically to support a local business. Not only did the two men working there follow us around, at one point one man stood inches away from me and my son awkwardly staring directly at us for about 3 mins. I thought this was an isolated incident until later I found out the other man acted similarly towarda my husband and daughter. My family were decorous throughout, although that should not be a prerequisite for a pleasant shopping experience. After 15 mins in the store and we were headed to the counter to pay we were finally asked if we needed help. So I would not recommend shopping here unless the staff stops stalking customers.

  I don't see why someone who is going to buy a $100 hand truck would be so upset over a lousy $2.

  Place sucks. Overly expensive. Plus the old guy running the place is a cheapO. Went in and bought a bunch of aerators for my faucets. Came in to exchange one that didn't fit. He wouldn't do it because the package was a little bent up. Surprised he's so hung up on the two bucks. I decided to not bother buying $100 hand truck he was selling. I'll probably find nicer and vast selections in Home Depot. My recommendation for alternative hardware stores 1. Barney's Hardware 1333 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont, NY 11003 2. Do It Best Hardware 406 Jericho Turnpike, Floral Park, NY 11001 3. Village Hardware & Paint Co 221-15 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428
