good beer, good food. It's not that different from any other brunch place in astoria (to be fair astoria is nothing but brunch) but as a place to get a beer and a meal (at any time) you could do a whole lot worse.

Definitely, should be coming back. The food is phenomenal. The chef is definetly worth checking out. The environment is cozy and service is warm. Great neighborhood spot.

Rar bar is a small quaint place with potential. I've been there twice and was blown away neither time. First impression: This place needs a thorough cleaning. I just got the feeling that everything was dusty and grimy... Or maybe it was just the horrid yellow paint that covers the walls that gave me an old musty feeling... I sat at the bar both times. I have zero complaints about service. Although when my girlfriend and I ordered a bottle of wine, the bartender poured it into two glasses that seemed to still have soap in them since we both saw suds floating at the tops of our glasses. My biggest hang up though, is that we spent a good amount of money on a meat and cheese plate on which we got two meats, two cheeses, and paid the extra $4 (WHAT!?) for grapes and mustard... It was all delicious. BUT they never give you enough bread! To share the plate of two meats and two cheeses, we each had three tiny slices to enjoy it with. When I asked for more bread they had the audacity to charge another $3 for another 6 tiny slices of bread. Even the bartender gave me a wince and said "bread is another $3, is that okay?" In conclusion, charge more for the meats and cheeses, give free bread, and include the 12 grapes and teaspoon of mustard. I don't want to feel like I'm being nickle and dimed during my meal. Next time we are in the mood for a meat and cheese plate, we will consider other options before revisiting this place.

Great menu and drinks. We ate at the bar and enjoyed the vibe. Super friendly bartender. Great comfort food. Had the flat bread and wings. Perfect spot to have a delicious meal. A must go to if in the area. Will be returning asap.

Love this place!! Always great food, great wine and cocktails, friendly wait staff. Been here for brunch and for dinner and it's always wonderful. If there's not a live band they always have a great playlist playing. The owner Tina is usually around and she is super nice. Best cheese plates in Astoria!!
