  Wonderful. Renee at the front desk was absolutely one of my favorite parts of the experience. She is a bright human being who appreciates others. Coming in for a solo birthday vacation from Florida, she made sure my stay was the best it could be. She successfully succeeded as soon as I walked in the front desk. Additionally, the other front desk attendant was super accommodating as well. I forgot her name, but I just wanted to shout her out as well for the amazing experience. The spa was wonderful as well! Ask for Randall, he was amazing!

  Cordial and attentive service. Shout out to Ashley. She knows good spots. The conference rooms are a little small, so be mindful for corporate events. You have to use their valet or be a logistics master with the side parking (that is in short supply in Alexandria). I usually find myself never liking a hotel that doesn’t have a parking lot but these guys are good enough for a five. Rooms are very clean, bright and ample.

  It was a bit overrated. They charge for EVERYTHING, and really you can't tell why. For a Spa the TOWELS in the room were rough, the beds are NOT Queens they are Doubles, they only have double beds at the elevator and in adjoining rooms, I have request for neither and could not be accommodated. There were some staff that were very helpful and provided extras when asked, but for what we were paying we really shouldn't have had to ask for enough towels etc. The location is great especially if weather it good. If you Valet, look behind you if you don't see him, they sitting in their car? (crazy) but they were able to get car to you when needed. The BEST part was the restaurant that is connected. We did dinner there.....TOP NOTCH, PRICEY BUT I WILL SAY WORTH IT. The Mussels and the pasta.....yummy. David was the best waiter ever and we did see the value there. A friend recommended this place and he admitting stayed there years ago, he loved it....but when we told him our experiences, he said obviously they had changed management or ownership. We even heard them charging a person for Early check in, the person walked up and said she was there, if room was available great, but if not she just wanted to leave info at desk for when ready, she was in a conference there ....the girl proceeded to check her in, says room is available and then adds....that will be 45.00 early check in .....the guest was like wait, what, I said I would wait......it's crazy sneaky stuff like that, that really not good. Oh and the Happy Hour wine.....is Woodbridge.....come on ....give me something for the 25.00 FEE you've tacked on.

  I rarely write reviews but my husband and I just had a wonderful stay at the Lorien. We only did 1 night but we wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel was immaculate. The room was spacious, updated and clean. Extremely comfortable. We travel often btwn TX and NJ and this is a great , convenient pit stop. I should also add that we are traveling with our dog and it’s a perfect walkable neighborhood.

  This review would have had more stars but upon check in the glasses in the room were very dirty. Additionally when my boyfriend woke up the next morning we found a used condom by the side of the bed. Totally unacceptable. The operations manager did call to explain how this is not up to standard etc. which I did appreciate but just sucks. It was my birthday and not how I wanted to spend the day. Ended up checking out. Unfortunate situation. If you stay here please check the cleanliness of your rooms. Front desk staff was very nice and pleasant. Wish I had a better overall experience.
