I think the first reviewer (Jin) had the same hearing officer (Mary) as me. Although I've see this behavior three others in that office. After waiting over a year ad getting zero assistance she rushed me through my evidence yelled at and belittled me. Then she was so very polite to my x employer The SF office has a real problem in dealing with customers. I believe they think they are above us all. The lead deputy called me up once started yelling saying I faxed over 100 pages without ever saying who she was. Then when I proved that I faxed less than 20 pages and asked for an apology she refused. And her supervisor (District Manager) refused to do anything including escalate it to the Labor Commissioner. As a result I believe they conducted a biased hearing

I’m so disgusted with people who work at the SF Labor Commissioner’s Office. After two years of waiting I finally had a hearing but the hearing officer was unbelievably unprofessional and rude. She was biased towards my case right from the beginning because she didn’t like the way I speak, I certainly felt the prejudice if not racism! She yelled, screamed and urged me to present my case impatiently throughout the entire time. Halfway through the hearing I felt so dismayed and disrespected, and lost the interest to defend my case which I must attribute that to her strategic work.

Thank goodness for the California State Labor Commissioner's office. I work in the catering industry as a bartender/server. Companies constantly steal your tip money, deny meal/rest breaks, not pay overtime, purposely time shave hours. Luckily this office makes many of these businesses obey the law. The money penalties on claims is huge, so if a business gets hit with a claim you can bet that company will not be flouting the law in the future. For anyone who complains about this office not being the best try taking your employer to small claims court, see how that works out for you.

Unbelievable! The people here are slow, rude and do the best to ignore you, I come here asking for help and then feel like you're not here to help but that I'm bothering you, lucky if you get your case heard, it's been 3 yrs and 2 filings for me and nothing yet!
