The very best in around! I've been visiting San Diego every year for 12 years straight and staying here eacha annual trip & will always come back to the Keating House for the wonderful, charming ambiance and hospitality, not to mention the central location in beautiful Banker's Hill (near Balboa Park & Little Italy).

Doug and staff was amazing. The place was affordable and absolutely adorable. Clean rooms and a super cool restaurant around the corner. Great find!! If you are in the area I definitely suggest staying here. I can't wait to come back!

Great place to stay, very accessible and cozy. Definitely a Bed and Breakfast. Room was a bit small, and everything is a bit older (sink, tub, wiring) but that's what adds to the charm.

I recently stayed here as a romantic reunion of hearts. Doug and Ben are great hosts. The room was comfortable and clean. It was a home away from home. The gardens are very enjoyable and the food was fantastic. The other guests were pleasant also. Good places attract good people. The decor encourages interpersonal relations and conversation. With no tvs and community breakfast you can forget the modern world and enjoy face to face interaction and meet new people. This is definitely on my to go again list. In regards to the planes they do pass but any place you stay in Downtown you risk the airplane noise. The frequency is limited through the sleeping hours. I sleep with the windows open and slept fine.

We stayed a week and loved it. Ben and Doug are terrific hosts. The house is quirky and pleasant, the atmosphere laid-back and comfortable -- a home away from home. We followed Ben's advice on where to eat and what to see and were glad we did. Yes, it's near the path for incoming flights, but we didn't even notice these from inside the house. The location is fantastic: a 10-minute walk into the amazing Balboa Park, 15 minutes to Little Italy, easy access to the bus and trolley system. On a lovely Saturday morning we even walked to the Midway museum on the harbor. One small improvement we'd make: a little more variety in the breakfasts, which were, nevertheless, healthy, tasty and pleasant.
