::I like this place. It tends to be quite (except for the Portuguese television in the background). I also like to go to some places on Ferry Street, which tend to be more lively (and have more trouble finding parking). The ambience is... a nice cafe. I sat and drank my coffee and then read for about a half hour. All in all a pleasant experience. I wouldn't go too far out of my way, but when I find myself in Newark, it is a good place to go. I can usually find parking nearby--although keep in mind the street cleaning days. I have to admit I do not order anything complicated. Usually an espresso and some sweet. Today I had an espresso and a largish cookie, and it was $3.00. Yesterday I went to a place in Jersey City and ordered more or less the same thing and it was $7.00. The people here are accommodating, even if they do not go out of their way to be all smiley. I do not speak Portuguese, which is the default language, but have never had any problem using Spanish or English. This is not a Starbucks. I don't know if they do fancy drinks. I have never seen anybody sitting and working on their laptop. It seems that most of the customers are locals, or at least regulars, since they seem to know the people behind the counter.
