::Decent garage. Usually has available parking. The stairwells usually smell like urine, though. I don't expect them to be perfect, but they're seriously gross.

::You know you will be able to find downtown parking here no matter what, but old structure with machines that never like anyone's credit cards when it comes time to leave.
Cary Strahan
::Always use for parking for the convenience of 5th Ave mall and central to all of downtown especially now with the 2 hour limit at a street meter
Nigel Sharp
::Stairwells are run down and feel a little worrisome (could use some mirrors to see if anyone is around the corners, I find the garage conveniently located in town but feels like it could use some modernizing.

::The stair wells and elevator lobbies in the JC Penney parking garage are extremely disgusting, unsanitary, and awful to pass through. They smell like they are used as restrooms and apparently never cleaned or sterilized; the smell of decaying urine clings to your clothing after taking one flight of stairs or waiting in the elevator lobby. I am avoiding this garage after three amazingly stomach-turning experiences. Please take the time to maintain your properties. I know Anchorage has homeless issues like any city, but this facility isn't doing anything to be a model of what our town could or should be.
