  I've heard over and over again that this is a place that people can come to relax in an environment where they feel welcomed, and I've heard over and over again that the way employees are treated completely undermines that atmosphere. I really hope that the owner can agree to some basic standards of fair treatment and make this a place where people can truly find community.

  I originally started coming to House of Kava about a year ago after being linked to the place by a friend, but started coming almost daily and tapering off to a couple times a week with new my new employment. This atmosphere allows me to work remotely and be productive in a space where I feel very comfortable with the bar tenders and patrons. I'd even run into old friends and coworkers there which was always delightful. However, in recent weeks staff that I've grown close have been being let go abruptly or unfairly treated to the point of driving them away. Pay was being withheld as well as flat rates being paid regardless of hours worked--and to think I recommended the place to friends to work (and patronize). Its atmosphere that the bar tenders and customers create that makes me want to go the extra mile (literally a 15 minute drive for me each way) to be in this space. Without that, and knowing how staff are being treated is seriously off-putting and upsetting. I'm very disappointed in an establishment that seemingly promotes relaxation, community, and acceptance. I keep hearing from the owner that "this is not the vibe we're trying to create". It sounds as if we are not welcome, so I will be taking my business elsewhere.

  This place is amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful. The drinks are tasty and delicious. They do some mixology The people who run it are great! Thank you for bringing this place info my life!!!!! Here’s a picture of my double tea!!!

  This place is AMAZING! It is extremely welcoming and their drinks are amazing. Their staff is very nice and make the experience even better. I just scrolled through some of the reviews written on here and was appalled to see that some people have stated very negative comments about the owners of the establishment and the management. I could tell you that I have been coming to this location for a very long time. Almost two years now and I have met all of the owners and regulars. I also met Vanessa (the manager) before she took her he position and she was a very pleasant caring individual. I have watched this place grow and change. I’ve seen toxic staff come and go (as they should have) and I can confidently say that NO ONE is underpaid. Also everyone who is stating this nonsense, should take a moment and ask themselves...if you are underpaid would you stay at a place for more than two weeks?! The answer is no.

  Everytime I come here Chris is amazing. He's super attentive to my friend and I without being pushy. He is able to explain everything thoroughly and makes it easier when I introduce new people here. Calm environment plus the owner was very friendly upon meeting her. Super chill atmosphere!
