  Ordered Rise Up Singing, compiled by Pete Seeger, a 1200+ songbook of protest and resistance movements through diverse cultures and throughout history. It's to me the sine qua non of this genre and the resource my family used for folksinging parties when we lived in Ohio. Guitar Center was helpful; one must pay upfront for special orders, then they send email to confirm receipt. However FYI there are no refunds if you should change your mind and special charges apply for home delivery and faster times.

  Everything Any type of musician needs.There is still really cool good staff here,but since they stopped commission on sales,and your really trying to spend some money (at least $250)nobody is overly helpful ,or seems to really care. They just leave you to it.But if you don't require in depth help,basically know what you want,it's great...

  My daughter went to the store today ready to buy a guitar. She was looking forward to going and hoping coming home with a brand new instrument. She asked for help twice and was ignored. No one approached or helped her so she left. Hope it wasn’t because she is young, a woman, or African American They lost out on helping a Your adult by their first guitar.

  Place gets a bad wrap. Every time I have been in there I have gotten good customer service. Great variety of gear in one place. Parking can be funky.

  Guitar Center has great deals on used equipment of many types. I bought a small amp there when I moved here and it's great for what it is. Their website allows users to sort through SKUs which they'd prefer and even ship them between stores. They seem to have the best prices in the area. The merchandising in the store is really good, with prices clearly visible, similar items being grouped together, and a clean floor. It is fairly east to try out an instrument and find something to plug it into if it needs it. The merchandising is better in these regards compared to other music stores in San Francisco. Their customer service could use some improvement however. I have walked in a few times and not been greeted. Generally speaking, the staff seem to interact with each other and aren't proactive in approaching customers. This could be good, because it gives customers privacy to do their own thing, but I had some trouble getting help when I bought my amp. The associate was polite though, but took a while to retrieve it when I bought it.
