::As the only after hour game in town they are empowered to gouge customers, playing on their emotions and charging exorbitant fees. No itemized pricing was ever provided to me just that it would cost 4500 to 5000 to remove a flea and tick collar my dog chewed off of my other dog. They refused to consider alternative options such as an endoscopy. My dog was on the verge of dying and since it was Sunday, I really had no choice but to surrender the dog to them in order to save the dog's life. Subsequently, I tried to reason with them on the costs and reuniting with my dog but there was no interest. The ransom is the ransom. In fact the doctor hung up on me and I'm still waiting on an itemized bill that I may review justifying the costs. Stay away if you don't want to lose your dog. In hindsight, I should have taken her to the ASPCA hospital in NYC. I lost my dog but she will live and make another family happy even if she has a good family now. In response to your response - Let me remind you that you gave me a verbal estimate that you simply quoted off of your clipboard with no itemized fees and zero willingness to discuss opportunities to manage said fees. My inclination to put her down was during a very emotional moment and I did not want her to suffer further. After your suggestion to surrender her, I agreed in an effort to get her treatment. A decision that is not trivial for any pet owner especially when the dog is only 18 months old and is leaving behind her sibling. Also, let me remind you that when we spoke today, in your frustration with me, you stated you did not even have time to itemize the fees. Coincidentally, shortly after my post, your office drafted and provided me a copy of the itemized fees and were helpful in securing the financing to pay the $4100 to retrieve my dog. That said, after reviewing the bill, I think its deplorable that you would charge me $800 for just hospitalizing my dog for what amounted to less than 24 hours. As I stated, I have no issues paying for my dog's treatment as my fiduciary obligation to care for her if and when the fees are appropriate for the services rendered. Thankfully she is now in the care of my local Vet. Please don't personalize this as I'm sure your not responsible for the billing. Providing after hour care should not entitle your organization to take advantage of pet owners and pet insurance companies with fees that are 4 to 5 times what a local Vet charges. Frankly, this needs to be regulated.

::Wow. Wow. Wow. Is all I can say. They are quick and professional here. From calling to coming in to keeping me up to date they are amazing. I called them they gave me directions on the phone and i walked in and they were quick to get my dog in to help. They came out kept me updated. Gave me an estimate of what they were doing and prognosis. I came in for an emergency for my dog. They made me feel at ease. I will save their number and use them in the future. A+ to the staff and triage team!

::My cat was in kidney failure and we were seen on emergency. A few days later during the night she started to go downhill. I called looking to go in to put her to sleep. The girl on the phone who seemed like she was very new, told me I needed to pay an emergency exam fee along with putting her down and cremation. When I told her I was short on cash she said I shouldn’t have a pet if that were the case and to find another cheaper place to do it. Either the girl was brand new or just heartless. I went to Katona VCA and they gladly helped me. Please avoid this horrible place if you can. Come to find out that emergency places almost always offer euthanasia if it’s a humane act and helping the anima This is a new business with money problems and they are looking for a quick buck.

::I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Goodwin and the staff at Guardian Vet Specialists. My cat Jake needed to see a cardiologist, and have an Echo done. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the facility was very clean. Dr. Goodwin was very friendly, caring, and patient. He spent a great deal of time explaining everything to us and answering the many questions that we had. He really put us at ease. At no time did we ever feel rushed.He is VERY good and if anyone needs cardiology care for a pet, do not hesitate. I live in Danbury CT just across the line from Brewster. I feel we are very lucky to have a practice like this in our area.

::We had to make an emergency visit past our regular vet hours. The staff and doctor were knowledgeable, responsive, and kind. We had lots of questions and they put us at ease. We are lucky to have them in our community.
