  I have been bringing my son here due to the fact that it is one of the few practices our insurance covers. He has seen two therapists here who have not dealt with his issues at all. The last therapist undermined our relationship with him and enabled him in failing high school and created a tremendous rift in our family. Do not see Joanne Rubin here. She is erratic and projects her own issues onto the patient. Now my son trusts her and it will be difficult to break him away from his dependence upon her. She has done a lot of damage.

  I’m so disappointed with this practice. First, my daughter called her therapist from school in Ann Arbor Michigan because she was having panic attacks and he literally told her he can’t help her. Now I asked him for a simple letter for her to get an emotional support animal—which you can buy online btw—we wanted one from her legitimate therapist—and he refused to do that as well—he said if she’s afraid to fly he can give her medication—so he would rather Medicate her than write a note for her to be able to take a dog on a plane. Ridiculous!!

  I was fortunate to have an excellent experience with them. I was looking for a psych consult without any effect for almost two weeks. I was referred to Carmel Psychological Associates and got an appointment within few days. I have consulted with Dr. Simon, whom I found the most pleasant, knowledgable and professional.

  This place has the worst communication problem. They never explain anything in a message and will only try calling you once or twice. They are no help at all. As far as doctors go, Dr. Altesman is the worst I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. He tried switching the perfectly fine medicine I've been on (for 7 years) because apparently he disagreed with all of my previous doctors. Now, after a couple appointments he will no longer give me medicine or see me. According to the receptionist they called me once to tell me that, but never explained it in the message and never tried to contact me after that. Then Dr. Altesman had the receptionist call me to move my latest scheduled appointment to today leading me to believe he was going to follow through. Now I have no medicine, which I am in great need of, and no doctor to prescribe it. I will never recommend this place or these people to anyone. They obviously do not care about the wellbeing of those who rely on them. Shame on this awful doctor and his bad medical practice.

  I was told my daughter could get an appointment with in two weeks. I was then told I had an outstanding bill from more than 10 years ago. I paid the bill even though it was not correct. And I reminded them of the urgency of my appointment and they continually assured me someone would call back and we could definitely be seen within two weeks. Two weeks passed and no one return my several calls as promised. I was then offered an appointment six weeks away. I had the same sort of problem with office staff 10 years ago, hence, the outstanding bill which was due to their errors. Nothing is changed in 10 years. Stay away.
