I went in person in October to cancel membership, it never got done. Had to go back and talk to Theon Ross in person with proof that I canceled it and he did absolutely nothing to help solve situation except for telling me I still owe the balance and it was never cancelled. Hilarious. Any Golds is better than Ballston. Never Again.

The staff is curt and often unhelpful. The weight room and the equipment is not cleaned often enough if at all. With that said, they offer a diverse set of courses ranging from beginners to experts.

It's a good gym, not a great gym. It fills most of the requirements reasonably well. There's one particular Hammer Strength machine that I'm a huge fan of and it's pretty popular at Gold's Gyms. It's a seated row Hammer Strength where you're not pulling down or up and the hinges are fixed above your head instead of down by your ankles. This particular gym doesn't have one and that's fine. Unfortunate though. It's reasonably clean and I haven't seen any broken equipment while there. Seems like four stars is a really fair review for this gym. Please don't see four stars as a negative thing, it's just not quite five stars is all

Poor customer service. Called in to cancel my membership and spoke to someone named Tyron Johnson. During entire conversation this gentleman was rude and inconsiderate. When I made him aware of how he was coming across, he informed me that it was impossible because he got excellent customer reviews and that I could review them on line. Im not sure what his other online reviews experience was like, but after my experience with him I do not care. If he is answering the phone for the gym should treat customers with courtesy and respect.

Great selection of equipment, especially if you're into conventional bodybuilding or powerlifting. They've got 2 platforms , 5 or 6 squat racks, sufficient bumper plates, and quite a bit of Olympic bench presses. They most certainly have a number of isolation machines that you won't find in a lot of other corporate gyms. That being said, most of the equipment is pretty outdated and worn out, but the monthly price is fair for the value received. Weightlifting section is ideally designated to the bottom floor, but they have ample room for cardio machines, classes, and Crossfit-style training (battle ropes, sled, tire flips, etc.) upstairs on the main level. They even have a little "quiet" (no music) area in the far back, which I thought was courteous. The 3 stars is simply due to the volume of people present during peak hours (430pm - 830pm). It's simply not as efficient or enjoyable as when it's less congested. It's by far the most occupied gym I've ever had to work out in, and I've been working out for about 16 years now. Some will say that they enjoy the testosterone-driven competition, to each his own, I suppose. Again, totally not a bad gym, if you don't mind spending 2.5 - 3 hours there at a time. It's definitely got that old school, retro feel to it, which I can appreciate. There's basically no ventilation in the bottom floor, so the mist of warm sweat is practically palpable. Don't get me wrong, this gym is pretty perfect for the stereotypical bodybuilder, but after a long day at work, sometimes you just wanna get in and get out without having to wait 20 minutes at a time for a machine. Would recommend to a certain type of people.
