  Hi Lauren When I read the article about the best teacher - Nancie Atwell - I sent sms to all my colleagues to get the publication and read it themselves. I truly subscribe to the contents of the write up. Here in South Africa we have ANA - Annual National Assessment- which drives most teachers round the bend, forcing them to teach to test ANA. If only ALL teachers would read and subscribe to this way of doing things in class. Yours in Education Stella Ntshangase
