::I found Erv's when they first opened and were handing out 'free drink' cards. I went, enjoyed myself, and looked forward to my return. A few days ago I did and was appalled by what I witnessed. A young lady came into the bar shortly after I sat with my drink and overheard the bartenders tell this young lady to leave. They refused to serve her, repeatedly telling her they had the right to refuse service as they continued to belittle her, publicly. The young lady had only been in Erv's for less than a minute, before she was berated by the bartenders. As she left and the taller bartender continued to yell at her, provocatively. Even after she left they continued to insult her. They finally began to settle down when another guest arrrived. Furious at what I had witnessed, I got up and left. I didnt catch either of their names but recognized them instantly from the photos section. I've managed and dined at many restaurant and never have I ever witnessed something as disgusting as this so close to home. Think twice about who you give your business to and the kind of behaviour these businesses allow. No human deserves to be humiliated in public, especially when your only intention is to have a good time.

::Erv’s stays open until at least 3am 7 nights a week, with loud music blasting and their patrons spilling out onto the street talking loudly and drunkenly. About anything other than when they have to get up for work the next day. The bar managers never lift a finger to quiet the outdoor guests down by telling them that this is a residential block and people are trying to sleep. If you live next to or above this bar you could not possibly care less about how well the drinks are made.

::Renovation are complete. The space is bigger. The music is always on point. The crowd is chilled and the drinks are delicious.

::This spot is a diamond of a find in the hood! Tried a few variations on familiar themes and found the drinks to be both well-crafted and strong (not generally the most likely combination). Small with great music playing.

::UPDATE: This spot has now expanded to twice its size but still has a lot of character. Nice to have a cocktail bar in the neighbourhood - and the happy hour cocktails are a great deal at $8 which runs from 12-7.
