::This review is based on the store not the pharmacy. Customer service is pretty decent compare to most stores in the same area.

::Pharmacy is terrible. Are not organized. Don’t give correct information. Don’t take into consideration that they caused the problem. Store looks nice but pick another pharmacy.

::Pharmacy staff are incompetent. Always an issue with everything I pick up. Never helpful. Other pharmacies always go above and beyond to get their customers their medication. No this place you have to tell them what to do. If not then you are out of luck. Even when it comes to prescriptions for my husband. It's just awful. It's always empty so eventually I am sure it will close given their awful service.

::I was reluctant to go into this location due to being informed about the racist employees, but seeing as it was the only one open at 11:45 pm on 10/17/2016, near my place of work in the financial district, I was left with no other options. I entered this establishment while on the phone with my girlfriend, dressed in jeans, a black hoodie and a Nike visor on my head, and my PINK gym bag on my shoulder. Upon entry, I was watched by two sales associates behind the register. I made my way to the candy isle in search of gummy worms, after not seeing the type that I wanted, I began to turn away. Before I could make it to the escalator, I heard “Customer Service to the candy isle”. I didn’t think anything of this seeing as other people were also on this ground floor, so I ignored the intercom. I began to make my way up the escalator and towards the hair care and toiletries isle, since the reason behind my trip was to purchase a new flat iron and antiperspirant. While looking at the various options of deodorant that this store has, I once again heard over the intercom “Customer Service needed near the deodorant”. After hearing this I became more aware of what was going on, especially since I was the only one on that floor of the store. Once I heard this, I just went over to the section that had the blow dryers and flat irons so I can get my items and leave seeing as it was now almost midnight and I needed to get home and prepare myself for class and work the next day. While still on the phone, I began to talk to my girlfriend about the different flat irons the store had, and I began to narrow down my options. I then heard once more, “Customer Service needed in hair care”. It is now flagrant and painfully clear what was going on. The people in this establishment we unable to successfully be subtle with their racial profiling. Not once did I hear any announcement made for a Customer Service agent to help one of the other (mostly Caucasian) customers. I am aware of “loss prevention” tactics as well as Duane Reade’s public announcements that say “Security Walk the Floor” and “Code Q”, that are meant to scare off those who may potentially be stealing, but seeing as that I am a frequent customer of Duane Reade and I was looking to spend up to $60 at this particular time, I felt embarrassed and bewildered because something like this has never happened to me before. I am a young African American woman who works and is in college finishing my bachelor’s degree, and I don’t understand why I would be seen as anything less than a paying customer. I do wish that I would be able to give this location zero stars, but since I cannot, I have no choice but to leave one star. It is unfortunate that I have to leave such a bad review but racial profiling is not something that should be taken lightly. It is sad that I was targeted just because of the way I looked or was dressed. I will never again return to this store and I hope something will be done about this.

::They should try to be more subtle with their racial profiling in the future. Made the mistake of coming here for a few household necessities on my way home from work instead of the Rite Aid closer to my apartment, dressed down in a casual hooded sweatshirt and running pants. Of course, as soon as I arrive on the upper floor looking for foil paper, I hear an announcement blaring: "Customer Service to the cosmetics isle!" The isle, of course, that I was standing in. Okay. Next, I found my way to the isles with shampoo (being a huge fan of the Garnier Fructis 2-in-1 line), I then picked up a bottle... Sure enough, the next announcement on the loudspeaker is "Customer Service to the haircare department!" Seriously? Of course, nobody actually came to the department to help me find the foil paper - I had to wander around aimlessly until I found what I was looking for. They just used the "we know where you are, and we're watching you on our security cameras" method as a shoplifting deterrent, commonly used in lieu of a less discriminatory ways of loss prevention in retail places when they see a person of color (always a suspect). As someone who got my start working in a retail environment, I'm familiar with this form of racial profiling, and was thoroughly demoralized and humiliated. And for what it's worth, there were no announcements for 'customer service' to attend to any of the other (majority Caucasian) customers browsing the store. Only once I had picked up several items, thus making it appear less likely I would pocket all of the merchandise I was struggling to carry, did the hounding over the intercom come to an end. And yes, in both instances where they announced my location, I was the sole person in those isles. Will certainly make sure never to shop here again.
