::My daughter had to wear braces for her teeth for some years. The orthodontist who treated her was Dr. Tipp, an orthodontist and unfortunately he retired. Each time we went in for dental care after he retired we dealt with Dr. Colwell for her regular dental work and questions about her retainer not fitting properly and his answers didn't line up with what Dr. Tipp had trained us to do after her braces were removed. For one she was told that she should always wear her retainer daily and nightly. As a matter of fact, I paid for another brand new retainer after my daughter accidentally lost her retainer. I put out $400.00 out of my own pocket only to be given misinformed information that she didn't need to wear them anymore when we came in to get them adjusted during one of her cleanings. Upon speaking to one of the dental assistants during her next 6 month appointment she mentioned my daughters teeth were starting to SPACE again and she should be wearing her retainer but Dr. Calwell then stated she needed her wisdom teeth out which was causing the spacing not from her not using her retainer??? We removed her wisdom teeth and afterwords when leaving my daughter advised me that he was very abrupt with her and told her to relax and the assistant took my daughters hand to help her relax and breathe easy. Which could have not been necessary if Dr. Colwell understood that some of his clients are children and are not like every other patient who can just sit back and take a needle being injected to your gums to be numbed! My daughter came out in a wheelchair crying and the nurse assistant heard my daughter say the dentist was mean and she didn't like him. As a parent I was helpless because I had faith in Dr. Colwell but after today's unnecessary visit no more! We made a appointment to get her retainer adjusted because they're still irrating her still after having her wisdom teeth removed. I live clear over by Iowa West Community College and drove to Bellevue Ne where he is located only TO BE TOLD DR. COLWELL doesn't fix retainers??? Even his staff had no idea he didn't do this!! So, thankfully the front office was very helpful with referring me to an orthodontist which Dr. COLWELL should have done in the very beginning instead of trying to make more money and remove my daughter's wisdom teeth. Part of being a good professional provider is looking out for your patients first and your pocket profit second. If he had done this I would have saved time from driving there for nothing as well as be able to find out the truth on if she should still be wearing her retainer or did I just pay out 400.00 for profit. So, if you have a child who's not comfortable around dentist and you definitely want to be given proper advice about dental care after wearing braces avoid coming to see him!

::I regularly use the Bellevue office for cleanings and dental work. Staff are friendly and helpful. Dentist is careful to describe what work needs to be done and why. Highly satisfied with the care I received

::They’re super unorganized, and one of the worst and dirty Dentist places I have been. Council bluffs location as well. Went there for a filling and they didn’t even know I was supposed to be there even tho I had a phone call and scheduled it for that day. Not worth the time and they also didn’t even numb my mouth for the numbing shot, went right ahead and stuck a huge needle in my mouth. So go here if you want all of the above.
