This place is great for its price and many international travelers stays here. I stayed here for 2 weeks and I got a pretty good room. I think the other rooms need some work such as better ventilation because it smells bad. Some beds can be very loud because of the way that bunk beds are organized. Be sure to ask if they can switch you to a better bed if it has a lot traffic.

I had a wonderful time at DClofty on my first trip here to celebrate my daughters Graduation day from Howard University. I met a lot of nice people from all over the world. All the staff was very helpful and accommodating especially (Roger) an employee that was extra helpful and nice. I will recommend this hostel to friends and family visiting your city. Thank you.

Not only the best hostel ive ever stayed in, DC Lofty is the best place I have ever stayed away from home. The hostel is very clean, the rooms are nice, the common areas provide plenty to do when you just want to hang out around the hostel. The location is close to everything you could possibly want to do in DC. Most importantly, the staff is exceptional, more helpful than any hotel concierge service and the most friendly yet professional staff. This hostel is definitely now a home away from home and the only place I will ever stay in DC

Pros: -Good location -Nice public areas Cons: -Basement room smells like a literal animal cage. They were nice to provide air spray, which I used about every 10 minutes, but it was not enough to cover what actually smelled remarkably like my actual rabbit cage! -The bathrooms, rooms, and hallways were all sticky, dark, and stunk of pot. I might have been more unhappy, but someone else paid for my stay. I would not spend my own money here. Would be passable if the rooms were nicer and especially LESS SMELLY. It was actually disgusting. I sprayed my pillow with air freshner
