  I work with one of their patients as a personal assistant. The job title might as well be considered "SLAVE" and the position "SLAVERY", because I feel as if I've been transported back in time to the 1500's where slavery was legal. I work with an Italian family who treats all their workers like crap. They talk down to us and treat us all as if we were all illegal immigrants. They have no consideration for your personal well being and feel as if the world and everyone in it revolves around them. When I first started working with them I worked two and a half weeks for FREE!!!!!!! I was LIVID!!! The mother of my patient had me believing that I was going to get paid for the "training hours". To find out that I wasn't going to be paid at all!!! I didn't quit because at the time I was unemployed and needed the job. The first week I was finally on payroll, they had put me to work 53hrs in one week because they had no coverage. I thought to myself... "Hey... at least NOW I'm going to get paid". Wrong!!! My first paycheck was shorted more than 20hrs!!! I then complained and threw a fit because I felt taken advantaged of. Only then was I compensated for my working hours. My patient is sexist and a big racist!!! He only has females working with him at night while the guys work with him during the day. He makes us rub different parts of his body for hours at a time complaining his legs and back hurt. Yet; when it comes to the guys, he doesn't make them massage him AT ALL. We get ZERO lunch break!!! And no time to disconnect, or have a moment for ourselves. If I go to the bathroom I'm being timed. It's RIDICULOUS!!! I'm currently seeking another job. I've only been working with this family for four months and I feel like it's been four years!!!! I'm at the end of my rope. The mother of my patient is rude and obnoxious!!! Every time I go into work I feel like I'm going into a plantation. I've been subjected to hearing my patient's brother having loud sex with his girlfriend; yet he called me unprofessional for calling out an hour before my shift. I wouldn't recommend anyone working with this family. The overall treatment of their employee's is degrading. Like I said, I'm currently seeking another job. However, I have four mouths to feed so this is why I've hung on for this long. Praying I get another job ASAP!!!
