  My understanding of becoming a member and owning (not permanent) a plot of land is to be placed on a waiting list, and you must reside in a surrounding neighborhood. There are many community gardens in and around Philadelphia, but I think the Bartram Community Garden is the best location among many near by Community Gardens.

  Bartram Gardens offer a great atmosphere, with beautiful scenery and well nourished plants along with a dock that provides a beautiful view of the river that allows you to boat along it. The only problem with it is that it's too short, there aren't many places to go in Bartram Gardens, but it sure makes up for that.
