  I have very bad experience with this location especially with an employee named Anthony. I reserved the car for 4/5/2018 when I went to pick up the car that morning the employee (Anthony) behaved to me very rude. He started saying that we don't have the car , try to come back after 3 hours. i told him I have to drive long distance with my family . Instead of trying to help me, he was getting angry with me and try kick me out of the store. I am planning to file a complaint against the company and employee the way I was being treated. He was keeping saying that "This is not my fault. They did not send the car". I called the Avis company , they are also saying that they can't help me . They told me I can go to another location (Carle Place) to get the car. Since I did not have ride to that location , I asked to provide a ride to that location. But they told me that they can't provide transportation to that location. The employee of that AVIS location seems to be acted very racially. I NEVER going to rent a car from AVIS or from this location again. I prepaid the entire amount and confirmed the dates after I booked by calling AVIS , they confirmed everything is fine. They did not inform me in advance the car is not available. Very very bad customer experience.

  Office is operated in a shack with hardly place to sit or stand. Employees always seem disgruntled. Two cars I picked up were in terrible shape. Smelling inside and dirty on outside. I'll never ever go to this location again even though I love Avis in general and this is nearest one to my home.

  I've rented from this location previously due to the low prices. However I have had a prior problem with them. But my recent rental (7/7/17) was a NIGHTMARE!! Now, I had called the day before my rental date to confirm that the reservation was good to go, and I was told that I was all set. The Avis counter is inside of the Gulf gas station. After flying into LaGuardia Airport, I took a taxi to the location. When I arrived I found that the gas station was closed due to major repairs!! The place was vacant except for the "Improvements" crew. They didn't have the number of the owner, so I was STRANDED in New Hyde Park. After contacting the national AVIS number, I was told that there was a car at JFK Airport, (Not Happening), or Carle Place. But they couldn't come to get me, I had to find a ride. Well, I was assured that there was a car available in Carle Place. Only when I called the location directly I was told that they were over booked and didn't have anything!! Needless to say, I burst into tears, sobbing over the poor customer service and being lied to. (They are supposed to give me a $40 credit. Big deal.) and the absolute unacceptable situation that I was placed in by THEIR N.H.P. AGENT!!! Ultimately, the very empathetic agent in Carle Place found me a car!! I am at a loss for his name, but I couldn't thank him enough!! Long story short, I will not be renting from AVIS ever again, especially at the New Hyde Park location! I do plan on writing a letter to the owner of the Gulf Station/AVIS Counter to express my anger/disappointment in their "service" They had my cell number and could have called me!!!!

  Very happy with the service, car, price, and just overall quickness. Getting my car and returning it was super simple and hassle free. Just be aware that this location is inside a gulf gas station. Just head on into the gas station store through the front door and on the left side is the Avis counter (which also doubles as the regular cashier for buying stuff from the store).
