  I start to work out on this gym and somebody broke my lock on the men's lockers room and stole my gym duffel and the staff can't do anything for me because the cameras wasn't on service but some guys told me that is not the first time that happened plus i never watch somebody cleaning the equipment like the others ymca

  Other reviewers mention that this YMCA is clean, I'd like to challenge that belief and say that downtown YMCA is filthy and disgusting. We know that this Y is an old building but come on, that doesn't mean that cleanliness should be thrown out the window. Bathrooms appear to be cleaned occasionally, toilets and sinks are very old and some of the toilet handles do not work, leaving some nice surprises for anyone that enters. Lockerooms and showers appear to be neglected. One thing I do like is that there is a decent amount of equipment to exercise, even when it's packed. So if you are here to work out and don't mind sanitation and cleanliness coming last, then by all means. This place is for you.

  The staff is amazing the place is clean and the response time is fast. I love the Y!

  My husband and I recently stayed in Old Market and joined a cycling class at the Downtown YMCA at 8am on Saturday morning. The instructor Anthony was a fabulous instructor, very welcoming to us as one-time visitors. The class was AMAZING! I now judge every cycling class in comparison to the one we took from Anthony. The bikes and the studio were great as well, but this one hour class by this high caliber instructor was the highlight of our weekend trip to Omaha. Even his pick for tunes was superb. Everyone at the Y, employees and fellow exercisers, were over-the-top kind to us and made our time wonderful. I only wish we could take and Anthony spin class every weekend.
