I've been dealing with Bob Willcutt and his staff for over 40 years now and feel so lucky to have such a great guitar shop right here in Lexington Kentucky. They have a great atmosphere in the store and a selection that is unbelievable with a repair shop that is absolutely wonderful. Whether you're a pro or an amateur Willcutt Guitars Shoppe is the place to go.

  This is a long overdue expression of gratitude. I have been a customer for almost 15 years and Willcutt Guitars has been the home base for my tone quest. Working with Eric I have found the instruments and amps that serve my gigs and help me hear the tones I am trying to achieve. In this world of accumulation, the folks at Willcutt know that we are searching for instruments rather than “stuff to have” and every piece of equipment is set up and ready to go based on my needs and preferences. Eric has been a blessing as he has learned what I am trying to hear and always finds a good fit. Tone is what it is all about. Bob’s set ups really finds the resonance point that makes each instrument breathe and a joy to play.   Truly a staple of the Lexington music scene. For nearly fifty years, they've offered a wide range of guitars for the best and brightest young upstarts and the ruddy old pickers. Their selection of guitars is unrivaled in the tri-state area, in my honest opinion. I can always expect helpful and knowledgeable assistance while browsing for my next six string. (I exclusively use six string, although they offer different selections, including double-necked.) All the best brands are here, and if you don't see what you're looking for then, firstly I don't believe you, but they also have a pretty slick website which I order from when I am incapacitated and cannot make it to the physical shop. But I suggest that if you are capable, make your way down to the actual store; it truly is a historical landmark at this point, if not in name then in reputation. The owner and his staff are really just a bunch of good old boys picking along, not doing no harm. Oh, and also his daughter plays music good; probably in part because their guitars are so gosh darned good. If you are looking for a guitar, look no further, my friends. This is the first and last place you will ever need to shop.

  I have had great service from their sales and service departments. Bob and Richard do excellent set ups and repair work. Always courteous and quick. Eric C. is always knowledgeable with all new and old equipment and happy to help with any questions. I’ve been a customer for many years even living on the west coast, I would do my business with Willcutt Guitars. Extremely happy with every experience
