  I think this was the 2nd Whole Foods opened in the greater Houston area back in the early 90's. They took what I think was an old movie theater in a affluent community and struck gold (City of Bellaire). It's fit well into the community and still has that original hippy dippy granola vibe due to the it being a very old building in a densely populated area of town. The aisles are slender, the parking lot is large but so tight and compact. But, it's an oasis in the middle of a forest: brightly light, clean, soothing atmosphere, amazing food selection, trendy customers affluent customers and an amazing location defenitly has spell success since the 90's.   Why has Whole Foods on Bellaire in Houston installed a bar that serves alcohol right next to the salad bar? Alcohol is a carcinogen. See article in June 2018 of Mother Jones magazine entitled "Bottled Up'. This is why my 4 1/2 stars went down to 3 stars. I used to enjoy shopping at Whole Foods but now the people at "happy hour" at the bar get too loud. It is very irritating.

  I like coming to Whole Foods. The staff is really nice and friendly, and the food options are always healthy and delicious. Ever since Amazon bought them out, prices have dropped slightly and many more things are available. Great service. Thanks! :-)

  The prepared food here is terrible. They put far too much hot spices on everything...literally everything. It is impossible to buy any prepared food there without having my mouth have a burning feeling for a long time after eating it. As part of the ethnic food the prepare they sometimes put out some foods from Northern Italian or Argentina and the choices they put out are not spicy in those countries, but here? of course they are...absolutely ridiculous..they have no idea what they are doing. They should either stop calling them Northern Italian or Argentine or they should go back to culinary school and learn something about those cuisines.

  Great store; not huge compared to some but they cram in a lot of different departments, from plants to seafood to clothing to bakery, and a whole lot more besides. There's a large bulk foods area and like most Whole Foods stores they have a good range of items that are Fair Trade, ethical, environmental, or all of the above. Prices have become a bit more competitive since the Amazon takeover. Would return.
