I really really wanted to like this bookstore. They have 2 things I love- cats and used books. The cats were great. They have a great selection of books, although they are a bit overpriced for the condition and age. The employees were wonderful. They all seemed to also love cats and books and were very knowledgeable. The problem was the owner. She was beyond rude, very snide and condescending and just plain old mean. A very unhappy person. I honestly feel sorry for the cats and other employees having to interact with her.

One of the few places that represents the original Seattle. Antique style book store with great deals and oneof t he most knowledgeable book sellers I've ever met. She loves books and cats, go here 1st if you need a hard copy of a book.

Best place in Seattle end of discussion. You can find really good deals on books. The variety of subjects they have to offer makes this place perfect for adding to a little library you may have going on. I have added some great Taoist reading materials to my library. The best part is the cats though. Make sure to pet my boy Buster and my girl Eleanor when you go there.

I love this place. The staff is very helpful and kind. They give really good trade-in value on used books, but will not take all books on the books that they need.

Twice Sold Tales is an independent used book store. They buy and sell books, and overall their prices are very fair. A couple tips: (1) The owner is a little... Well, she's somewhere between eccentric and bipolar. She's very nice in general but if you catch her on a bad day, she's a. It off putting. If you see the myopic woman with streaks of grey, just be friendly and know,if she's not immediately friendly, she may be having an off day. She loves books and will talk your ear off on a good day though. Really, she's very nice. Old school Seattle. (1.5) The rest of the staff is really friendly and helpful at all times. (2) Between two and five cats live here at any time. They're all wonderful and cute and socialized and love to be pet (or do not mind at all if you pet them). Most people who frequent the shop either partly come for the kitty fix or just don't care either way (kind of like cats!). So, the point is, if you don't like cats, or you think cats are gross, don't come here. (3) There is a lot of stock here. Check back often. Many books come and go frequently. Check out the different sections, browse, ask the staff questions. (See 1 and 1.5 above). (4) Be sure to check out happy hour here --- 6pm-9pm every day. 25% off used paperbacks will save you a bunch! Happy book hunting!
