This was one of the most surprising finds I've stumbled upon in DC! Never knew it existed! But we found a Groupon for the champagne tour and had a blast! So many secret doors you could spend hours here looking for them! One of the most eclectic spaces I've ever been to! Loved it!

Attended wedding. Interesting atmosphere, bit unorganized with event timing/keeping to schedule. Overall a fun time. Found wondering upper floors to be lacking based on previous read reviews. Hidden doors typically did not lead to anything exciting, usually just another door that would be locked from the other side.

We did not know what to expect when we booked this venue as part of our management team retreat. We were WOW'd! I was given the description of 'there's no place like this on the planet' -- and truly it is just that. We had a wonderful time touring the rooms, looking for secret doors and having engaging conversation about memories evoked by seeing some of the items on display. We will recommend this venue again and again to our colleagues. Well done!

From the outside, the O Mansion appears to be a series of ordinary brownstones, but it is truly the most idiosyncratic museum I have ever visited! It contains history (Rosa Parks, J. Edgar Hoover and many others have stayed here), mystery (there are over 70 hidden doors), elegance and kitsch. Many rooms look like a giant flea market, and everything is for sale. I mean everything -- from dusty old paperbacks to a dress Audrey Hepburn wore in "My Fair Lady"! A word of caution: although searching for hidden doors is exciting, don't fall into the trap of focusing on the secret door hunt to the exclusion of all else. There are floor to ceiling paintings and untold treasures awaiting your discovery. We wandered around exploring this gem in absolute delight for close to three hours!

To be clear: I love this place. It’s such a unique and fun experience. When I brought an out of town guest to visit the space, however, I was quite disappointed with our greeting. We were nearly turned away at the door after having commuted over 40 minutes in the rain. We had looked at the website beforehand...nothing indicated that walk ins were not permitted. The couple behind us had even called ahead, and was told walk ins were welcome before 3:30 (we arrived at 3:18). Our greeter let us in after a couple of minutes, only to tell us we were to leave by 4:45. He then proceeded to seat us and leave the room, thus eating up our already limited time. Not impressed with our greeter at all. Afterwards, the visit was lovely. Lexi, our secondary greeter, was succinct and informative about the museum and hotel’s history and rules. I still love this place and recommend it to visitors, but be sure to book a tour beforehand. Mansion: handling walk ins should not be this problematic.
