Any reviews posted before November 2017 are in reference to the previous restaurant The Craftsman. The Bungalow Club is not even open as of March 24, 2018. Perhaps these old reviews will disappear after the new place opens. If not, this is a problem with Google Maps and restaurant customer reviews. SO BE AWARE. Do not let unfavorable reviews of The Craftsman deter you from visiting a restaurant that has yet to open. My 5 Stars mean nothing at this point either.

Grossly disappointing. I've been taking out of town guests here for years and have generally been pleased with both food quality and wait staff. Brought my in-laws here and it frankly sucked. Hardly anyone there (1st night of the State Fair?), literally one other couple when we arrived and one other 4-person group half way through and the waitress was unbelievably inattentive (far more interested in chatting with her buddy at the bar), it took a half hour to get our appetizer ("it wasn't up to our standards, at first"; really? it was plain and mediocre, at best, when it arrived), the expensive entrees were meh (bland, tiny portions, with the sea bass unrecognizable). Can't believe we spent over $200 for a $50 meal and NEVER going back. Truly disappointing and pathetic excuse for the Craft.

We wanted to love this place which has a new owner, but there were just too many negatives. The food was ok, the drinks were good, the service was mediocre - slow and not very attentive. We liked the bruschetta crostini and blue berry cobbler. But at 9:15 (they close at 10) our server started running a vacuum cleaner. We were the last table but it would have been nice to finish our coffee and conversation. We ended up rushing out the door just to get away from the noise. And the bill for two people with two cocktails each , two entrees, an appetizer and dessert was $100. Not unusual for this kind of place but enough to guarantee not having to listen to a vacuum cleaner at the end of the meal.

The lamb special was good but not great(lamb was very delicious but a little over cooked, veggies were under-seasoned). The old-fashioned was delicious, best part of the meal. The food used to be spectacular here, something seems to have changed.

Sadly, the service and food at the Craftsman is inconsistent. Sometimes amazing (their craft cocktails) and other times really disappointing. At 1p on a Sunday we didn't get our food for over 40 minutes, our server brought our cocktails 15 minutes after ordering and forgot two folks in our party. The Steak and Eggs brunch dish had amazing steak, but a completely lackluster presentation, and eggs that were overcooked. Bread came out once all of our food was almost finished. It certainly wasn't the fault of the server that they were understaffed. Our last visit was stellar. Confusing. Inconsistency drives me nuts, so won't be returning.
